Dr. Mario is a popular puzzle game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1990. In the game, the player plays as Mario, who becomes a doctor and fights against viruses generated by the evil Dr. Evil.
The goal of the game is to clear the field of viruses that fall from the top of the screen. There are three types of viruses in the game, each of which has its own color: red, yellow and blue. Viruses fall on the screen along with regular pills that can be rotated and moved left and right. The player must match the color of the pill and the color of the virus to clear the screen.
The game has several modes. In Game Mode, the player must clear all viruses to complete a level, and wins when they complete all 20 levels. In "New Batch" mode, the game speed starts from zero, and in "Battle" mode, the player fights against a computer opponent or another player to increase the number of viruses on his screen and win. "Original" mode offers to play with original music and graphics.
Dr. Mario also features a multiplayer mode where two players can play against each other on the same screen. Each player starts with the same number of virus lines on their screen, and the player who cleared the screen first wins.
The game received good reviews for its simple yet addictive gameplay, as well as its vibrant music and graphics. Dr. Mario has been successfully ported to other platforms and is still popular among puzzle fans.
